Finding the volume of fruits

Hey r/math

I’m a year 2 IB student. Im working on my Math IA right now (a mini exploration).

In my math class, we recently learnt how to find volumes using integration. So, it got me thinking- is it possible to measure the volume of fruits using integration? (provided that you can find equations of graphs that represent the surface or the fruit).

For something like a uniform pickle, its gonna be pretty easy. But what about a banana, a pineapple, etc.

Is there any good place I can study this from? Is this idea even feasible?
