I love cars and everything about them, but I know very little about the inner workings of them. I know how to change my oil, change my tires, and I know what some parts do, but I have never actually worked on a car ever. When I run into other car enthusiasts it gets me very excited. Unfortunately, sometimes I get weird looks or patronizing comments when they find out I’m not too mechanically inclined. Since this has happened a couple times, I just don’t bother to bring up my interest in cars that much around new people. I never had a garage where I can work on a car, my dad never worked on a car with me (or at all really lol), and now that I’m in college, it’s hard for me to find time to really sit down and learn the inner workings of a car in detail. It just irks me when some people base being a true car enthusiast on whether or not I know how to take an engine apart and put it back together. I know this may be an unpopular opinion and that I probably sound like a bitch, but it is just my two cents. Take it how you guys will.
